The study of food history is called Gastronomy and was invented by Hungarian physicist Nicholas Kurti and French chemist Hervé. It was established in 1988 at the University of Oxford. Gastronomy is the study of food and culture which explains the cooking techniques, nutritional facts, science related to food, etc. It includes how the food is discovered, tasting of the food, how it should be prepared.

The history of food is important for understanding the human and the culture. Food is related to the culture of the society and it is essential for religious ceremonies also.
